Yuyu Yang had planned numerous Lifescape sculptures throughout his life. The Taroko series and the stainless steel series represent Yang's two different landscape expressions. The former are boldly carved sculptures, with sharp shapes and majestic momentum. The latter reflect the landscape, with rounded shape and graceful style. In addition, Yang left many related design proposals and concept explanations. Therefore, through the comparative study of the two series of sculptures, we can understand the artistic characteristics of Yang's Lifescape sculptures. Through the comparison of works and documents, we can learn the meaning of the artist’s spirit, culture and aesthetics. |
