The Nurse Practitioner Competency Advancement System is designed to foster professional role recognition, improve care quality, and support self-affirmation among nurses. In 2022, the participation rate in competency advancement reports among outpatient nurse practitioner was only 22.2%, prompting this project to improve the rate. The project aimed to increase participation in competency advancement reporting. Analysis identified several barriers: having trouble in report writing, lack of clarity on content and literature search, absence of support mechanisms from the department, lack of a culture and incentives for report writing, unfamiliarity with word processing, and insufficient training and motivation. Applying the ARCS motivation model, the project introduced diverse teaching materials and improvement strategies, including promoting advancement benefits, creating a LINE group for report-writing support, organizing writing courses, and assigning dedicated mentors. After implementation, the participation rate rose from 22.2% to 84.3%, demonstrating the project’s effectiveness in increasing nurse practitioner's willingness to participate in competency advancement reporting and enhancing their sense of accomplishment. |
