Wang Dingguo, a famous Taiwanese entrepreneurial writer, has been writing since his return to creative writing in 2013, and has so far accumulated a number of excellent novels. Wang Dingguo has entered the reader's field of vision and become an influential writer, largely because his creations profoundly reflect on the spiritual plight of modern people, showing the journey of self-transcendence and the search for meaning in existence under trauma. Trauma has always been the main theme of Wang Dingguo's creative works, and hisnovels have united various kinds of traumas in life, and his literary achievements are inseparable from his humble complex and trauma writing. This paper takes Wang Dingguo's "When God Comes" as the text for discussion, and discusses it based on trauma theory, exploring the theme of trauma in his works, the method of transcending trauma, and the value of trauma writing. The full text constructs the life implications of the book from several key points, including "creative concept", "self-salvation", "caring for others", "choice and creation", etc., and finally summarizes the whole text, thinking about the dialectical relationship between the humbleness of life and the nobility of human nature, and establishing the significance of "trauma writing". From this we can see the difficult journey of the various characters in "When God Comes" in their search for the meaning of existence and the way to overcome their predicament in the depressing wasteland. At the same time, it can also be seen that in Wang Dingguo's works, individuals transform inherent traumatic memories into a path of self-salvation and self-transcendence, thereby constructing the meaning of existence and rebuilding the possibility of self-healing in life. |
