This study investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the operational performance of Taiwan's travel industry. Six publicly traded travel companies in Taiwan were selected, and their financial data and stock performance were analyzed before the pandemic (up to 2019), during the pandemic (January 2020 to September 2022), and after the pandemic (October 2022 onwards). The results indicate that the pandemic significantly affected the asset utilization efficiency, profitability, financial income capacity, and debt repayment ability of the travel industry. These indicators declined during the pandemic and gradually recovered thereafter. The travel industry enhanced operational efficiency and market evaluation through cost reduction, digital transformation, and seeking government support. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders and offers references for future development. |
