This article presents a two-by-two analytical framework to discuss global health governance, aiming to organize the existing order of current global health governance. The article points out that there are currently two prevailing modes of governance:“decentralized”health governance and“centralized”global health security governance. These modes can further be divided based on the urgency of the issue, resulting in four distinct types of global health governance. Using this framework, the paper illustrates its applicability and explanatory power through various health-related examples. The proposed framework provides a practical analytical tool for exploring the diverse developments in global health governance. |
