As the aging population continues to grow, elderly individuals face more complex decision-making and care needs. Therefore, exploring effective implementation of shared decision-making (SDM) has become particularly important. The core concept of SDM is people-centered, emphasizing the integration of patients' emotions, life experiences, and personalized needs into the decision-making process. By reviewing relevant studies, existing research still faces numerous limitations in practical application, and there is insufficient understanding between healthcare professionals and the elderly regarding SDM, preventing this concept from being fully translated into actual care practices. Future research should focus on addressing these issues to promote the widespread application of SDM in elderly mental health care, thereby enhancing the quality of care for older patients. |
