This paper delves into the significance of integrating cultural elements into contemporary product design, highlighting the pivotal role of culture-based creativity in the process. Specifically, it focuses on the cultural wealth of the Vietnamese Dong Ho folk painting tradition. Recognizing the inseparable relationship between culture and human life, this study advocates a human-centered approach to implementing cultural creativity in modern jewelry design. Adopting the design thinking method, the study employs a comprehensive process comprising three key phases—understanding, exploration, and materialization—alongside six stages: empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, testing, and implementing. Additionally, the study underscores the critical application of diverse design tools, thoroughly investigating and synthesizing the essential cultural components necessary for the successful implementation of this case study. |
