This article addresses the issue of patients in acute psychiatric wards being unwilling to wear traditional wristbands, leading to difficulties in patient identification. We propose an innovative solution: a slap bracelet wristband. Traditional wristbands often cause skin discomfort, require frequent replacement, and pose a risk of infection. To solve these problems, we designed an improved slap bracelet wristband made of flexible metal, offering comfort, adjustable tightness, ease of cleaning, and reusability. By comparing the traditional wristband with the slap bracelet wristband, we found that the new design increases patient acceptance, reduces nursing workload, minimizes incidents, and has environmental benefits. Additionally, the barcode on the slap bracelet is easy to scan, ensuring accurate patient identification. The implementation has demonstrated that this innovative design not only enhances the quality of care but also has the potential for broader application in other psychiatric wards. |
