The Challenge of Climate Change and Food Safety

氣候變遷導致全球暖化，增加乾旱與洪水之頻率與嚴重程度，也影響動植物疫病與害蟲傳播問題。國際間為維護地球與人類永續發展，紛紛推動相關因應措施，以期翻轉人類自工業化以來，不斷破壞與污染所帶來之環境傷害。氣候變遷以直接或間接的方式威脅食品安全，為解決氣候變遷帶來之食品安全問題，需要全球合作與跨領域協力，由農業與衛生部門等通力合作，規範涵蓋農場到餐桌之全面性因應措施。

Climate change leads to global warming, thus increasng the frequency and severity of droughts and floods, so that the animal and plant diseases and pests spread rapidly. In order to maintain the sustainable development of the earth and human, the international community has promoted relevant countermeasures to reverse the environmental damage, which was caused by human through continuous environmental destruction and pollution due to industrialization. Climate change poses direct or indirect challenges to food safety. In order to solve the dilemma caused by climate change, global cooperation and interdisciplinary collaboration are needed. In terms of food safety issues, agriculture department, health department and relevant departments should cooperate with each other to formulate the comprehensive countermeasures from farm to table.
