Pressure injuries indicate medical care quality. If emergency patients suffer from pressure injuries, it will increase medical costs, extend hospital stay, and increase manpower load. An improvement project was implemented because the average incidence density of pressure injuries per unit from January to August 2023 was 2.35%. After analyzing the current situation, the following problems were determined; insufficient awareness of pressure injury prevention by nurses, insufficient implementation of pressure injury prevention by nurses, and pressure reduction assistive devices are not provided on time, lack of nursing guidance tools, and lack of a clinical audit system. Improvement measures include disseminating measures to prevent pressure injuries and using the“PPAP Skin Baby Puppy”formula to help memory, making“Prevention of Pressure Injury e-books and posters,”using the multi-language version of Pressure Injury Prevention to chat robots, and establishing a“diaper dressing placement area.”After conducting audits, the average density of pressure injuries dropped to 1.6% by February 2024. This project can be used as a reference to improve the prevention of clinical pressure injuries. |
