Background: There are more and more studies using technology-mediated smoking cessation intervention methods to increase the success rate of smoking cessation. Therefore, this study uses virtual reality to explore the effectiveness of 3D VR smoking cessation intervention in smoking outpatients, and uses the ARCS model to verify it. Methods: This study adopted a one-shot case study design and conducted a cross-sectional study using a survey method. The subjects of the study are patients who participated in the smoking cessation clinic. There were 50 purposive sampling participants. In addition to receiving outpatient smoking cessation services, they also receive 3D VR smoking cessation intervention. Results: After the intervention, the average scores of participants in aspects such as attention, relevance, and satisfaction were all around 80%. Only the average scores in confidence was slightly lower, reaching around 70%. The overall improvement in motivation to quit smoking was good, and also have good learning effects and satisfaction. Conclusion: This innovative technology-assisted health education intervention (3D VR smoking cessation intervention) has a good effect on improving smoking cessation motivation among smoking outpatients, and has the potential to be promoted in the future! |
