With the rapid development of dental technology, there are more and more ways to reconstruct teeth that cannot be preserved. Autologous tooth transplantation (autotransplantation) is one of them. This approach restores the integrity of the dentition by replacing the edentulous area with other teeth. Compared with traditional treatments like fixed dentures, removable dentures, dental implants or orthodontics, patients can have another choice, and there is also a good clinical success rate. The process of autotransplantation involves different aspects of dentistry and requires interdisciplinary treatment to achieve optimal results. This article conducted a comprehensive literature review to provide an introduction to autotransplantation, including the tissue healing mechanism after tooth extraction, case selection, clinical operation tips, etc., offering clinicians a reference for treatment. |
