Taiwan began to promote national cervical cancer screening since 1984, cervical cancer has reached a positive result: in 2018, the age-adjusted incidence of cervical cancer has been reduced to 7.87 (per 100,000 females), the ageadjusted mortality rate has been reduced to 2.93 (per 100,000 females), and the 5-year survival rate has also reached an expected level. However, the year-onyear decline in the screening rate, the increase in the incidence rate of cervical cancer for females between the ages of 25-29 years, and the gradual increase in the crude incidence rate as age increases, are delaying the progress of cervical cancer prevention and treatment. By identifying these problems, it can help the medical teams to strengthen screening for the target groups, to cooperate with the continuous promotion of the National Cancer Prevention and Control Program, as well as to expand the administration of the HPV vaccine, so that we hope to effectively control the harms caused by cervical cancer to women in the future. |
