Cancer-related anorexia (CRA) stands as a prevalent concern among cancer patients throughout their illness and treatment journey. Its presence can significantly undermine both the physical and psychosocial well-being of individuals, leading to a diminished quality of life. However, the understanding of CRA remains ambiguous due to the limited body of research addressing this issue. This paper employs Walker and Avant's approach to conduct a thorough concept analysis of CRA. Through a systematic review of literature, the study elucidates the definitions, essential attributes, antecedents, and consequences of CRA, while also delineating its empirical referents. By presenting model, borderline, opposite, and relevant cases, this paper aims to provide clarity on the concept of CRA. It is hoped that this analysis will aid healthcare professionals in gaining a deeper understanding of CRA and serve as a valuable resource for clinical practice. |
