This article starts by discussing whether the educational reform in the past thirty years has failed and who should be responsible for the results of the educational reform. The author points out that the series of consequences caused by the expansion of universities are most criticized by the public and are also the main factors considered the failure of educational reform. These results include: the pressure to enter higher education has not been relieved, universities downgraded, the original technical and vocational education disintegrated, and the academic ability of high school students being educational reform process reduced. The author also reviews some of the negative impacts of education reform and some external factors on national education, such as the imbalance of campus power ecology, teachers’inability to devote themselves to teaching, unsatisfactory teacher training, political interference in educational activities, and the difficulty in promoting innovation due to pension reform, etc. The author finally spells out some drawbacks revealed in the educational reform process that should be corrected, and expresses his expectations for the new Minister of Education. |
