Regarding the methods of and attitudes towards the appreciation of rhyming literature, this article suggests starting from a single piece of poetry, ci, or qü. A prerequisite is the understanding of the historical and social background of the author and the literary work. The background information could be obtained from the poem's title and prologue, which is the basis for a clear analysis of the poem's structure and context. In the meantime, a reader should not overlook the immovable features of the single and double syllables in a poem, the grammatical and linguistic skills of the meaningful forms in the stanzas, and the subtlety of the couplet from the duality. Only then will we have a solid foundation for proper comments and appreciation of rhyming literature, seeing from the comparison of poetry, ci, and qüthat they are the same as ''siblings'' and that they are different in their own styles. If we can use this ''intellect'' and ''sensibility'' to ''trigger'' associations, then we can better explore the ''potential virtues and hidden glory'' of rhyming literature, thus enhancing and enriching the vitality of rhyming literature beyond time and space. For this reason, the one and only method of rhyme appreciation is to have both intellect and sensibility, with intellect taking precedence and sensibility continuing to develop. |
