Ancient emperors relied on the rules of constellations to predict auspicious and inauspicious events for significant decisions, while the daily activities of common folk were also determined by the auspicious and inauspicious days noted in the farmer's almanac. Consulting the farmer's almanac to choose suitable times for activities is a significant cultural practice in Chinese society. Even today, with advanced technology, many households still keep a physical copy of the farmer's almanac, and electronic versions are installed on smart devices. In essence, the farmer's almanac can be considered the most widely used and practical book for daily life, fully reflecting the lives of ordinary people. This study explores the public's awareness and attitudes towards the ''date selection'' culture within the farmer's almanac through a survey involving 347 participants. The results show that most respondents have a farmer's almanac at home, and their perception and demand for it are positive. This research aims to enrich the content of future cultural creative designs and ensure the sustainable development of traditional culture, integrating it into modern life across time and ethnicities. |
