淺論傳統方志與文學研究

A Brief Account of Traditional Local Gazetteers and Literary Studies

方志是記載一地自然與人文狀況的歷史、地理之書，源遠流長，為文獻之大宗。文學作品、以至學術著作的傳播，未必始於著者的鄉邦。但是在鄉土之情的影響下，著者鄉邦對其作品、著作的興趣，往往大於其他地方。有關作品、著作內容，以及著者資料的記載，又往往以著者鄉邦的方志為最詳。本文在簡述傳統方志的發展與類別後，嘗試就傳統方志對文學研究的功用及不足作出探討。

As a major category of classical works, traditional local gazetteers are historical and geographical books of natural and cultural contents. The spreading of a literal or academic work did not necessarily start from the homeland of the author, however, the interest of his homeland in this work was usually greater than other regions. Therefore the records about the related works are often more informative in the local gazetteers of the author's homeland than other regions. After introducing its development and genres, this articles aims to investigate the advantages and drawbacks in the utilization of traditional local gazetteers.
