Facing the dual challenges of the international talent competition and the transformation of the domestic population structure, the Taiwanese government has actively recruited foreign professional talents in the past decade, including adjusting the legal system or promoting talent recruitment practices. In order to evaluate the effect of the policy, this article will explore the impact of foreign professionals on corporate net profits and domestic labor wages. By analyzing the governmental data and using the regression analysis model, this article found that, on the whole, the employment of foreign professionals has a positive impact on net profit, especially for medium-sized enterprises. In addition, the employment of foreign professionals has a positive effect on the wages of domestic workers. Compared with those not hiring foreign professionals, domestic workers' average salary will increase by 0.44% to 0.7%. Finally, this article believes that the government should continue to strengthen the recruitment of foreign professional talent in the future and optimize the current policy. Otherwise, we hope to be more research on the impact of foreign professional talent on Taiwan's labor market and industries in the future. |
