This study aims to explore the on-site job problems encountered by elementary school beginning teachers, and the specific supportive sys¬tems provided by their school. The data were mainly collected via in-depth interviews, and further analyzed in accordance with related literature. A total of eight beginning teachers from different places were interviewed regarding their job problem based upon four aspects. The findings of the study are: (1) The job problems encountered by the beginning teachers involve four major aspects, teaching, classroom management, adminis¬trative work, and systematic counselling. (2) Schools implement a great variety of diverse systems to solve the abovementioned job problems. (3) The systems implemented to support administrative work are effective in terms of solving the problems. |
