This study aims to explore crucial factors influencing the international freight forwarders enter into the cross-border e-commerce logistics business. A research framework including three dimensions and 14 criteria is proposed based on literature review and expert interviews. An Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method with expert questionnaire was conducted in this study to identify the crucial factors. The results show that logistics integration capability was perceived by respondents as the most important factor influencing the international freight forwarders enter into the cross-border ecommerce logistics business, followed by customer service capability, knowledgeability of employees, information and technology systems, and information integration capability. With respect to entry modes, this study suggests freight forwarders should adopt the mode of international transport partners to enter into the cross-border ecommerce business in the short term, followed by the modes of overseas warehousing and self-built platform system. The result of the study can provide strategic reference for freight forwarders to conduct cross-border e-ommerce logistics business in the future. |
