A tracheobronchial diverticulum is a very rare condition. A 34-year-old female visited our outpatient clinic for a routine chest CT examination. CT showed a round and smooth-shaped air-bag cavity at the right posterior aspect of the trachea at the level of the first thoracic vertebra. She was diagnosed with a tracheal diverticulum. Since she was asymptomatic, she was advised to undergo regular follow-up appointments at the outpatient clinic. As patients with a tracheobronchial diverticulum are often asymptomatic, treatment is usually unnecessary. A different diagnosis with pertinent disorders is needed so as to avoid a delayed management when necessary. |
