In response to the continuous advancement of criminal justice policies, Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice is studying various strategies to formulate more professional correctional measures. The professionalism of corrective education continues to improve, and the implementation of individual treatment plans for inmates represents a broader administrative service aspect. However, fundamentally, whether inmates have the ability for self-directed management and learning is the key to enhancing the effectiveness of correctional education. This study focuses on how correctional educators, amidst various administrative tasks, undertake the role of managing individual treatment cases for inmates. It uses the concept of customization to deduce the essence of individualized treatment, exploring how operations within correctional institutions need to be carried out in order to meet administrative requirements. Based on the empirical experience of this study, the concept of self-directed management and learning is integrated into individual treatment plans. The“Inmate Individual Treatment Self- Management Card”(referred to as the“self-management card”) system is established, allowing inmates to take on the role of their own case managers, while correctional educators can serve as case supervisors. By simplifying complexities and streamlining administrative measures, effective implementation can be achieved. Only through effective implementation can the intended outcomes of the treatment plans be realized. |
