Benign metastasizing leiomyoma: a case report

本研究報告了一例罕見的良性轉移性平滑肌瘤（benign metastasizing leiomyoma, BML）個案。子宮平滑肌瘤通常無症狀，但在少數案例中可見到類似惡性腫瘤的侵襲性表現。BML特點是子宮平滑肌腫瘤在保持良性特徵的情況下發生遠端轉移。本案例為40歲女性，經歷多次肌瘤復發及手術治療，最終發現肺部及其他部位的轉移。良性轉移性平滑肌瘤是一種罕見且診斷挑戰性的疾病，通常涉及多個器官的轉移。本病例的病理報告和臨床表現均符合BML的特徵，強調了對這一疾病更深入了解的重要性。目前，對BML的治療主要是手術切除和賀爾蒙治療，但由於案例稀少，尚無標準治療指南。未來研究需更多關注BML的病理機制和治療策略，以提供相關病例更有效的臨床治療策略。

This study presents a rare case of benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML), typically asymptomatic but occasionally showing aggressive, tumor-like behavior. BML is characterized by distant metastasis of uterine leiomyomas while maintaining benign pathology. The case involves a 40-year-old woman with recurrent leiomyomas leading to surgeries, eventually discovering metastases in the lungs and other areas. This case highlights the diagnostic and treatment challenges of BML, underscoring the need for further research into its clinical and genetic characteristics.
