In the information era, the channels for publics to obtain information are diverse and convenient. However, the influence of the inequality of communication on the publicity and promotion of national defense affairs remains to be investigated. To explore the relationship between different sources of information on individual’s support for national defense and re -communicative behavior, this study utilized Taiwan’s national defense and security opinion survey in the second quarter of 2021 conducted by the Institute for National Defense and Security Research for secondary data analysis (N = 1,500). By running latent class analysis, the results revealed that the sources of defense information were mainly divided into two categories:“news use group”and“social media use group.”Moreover,“social media use group”showed higher national defense support in comparison with“news use group”and then was more likely to have subsequent defense information re-communicative behavior. Also, individuals who used social platforms as the main source of defense information presented more apparent defense information re-communicative behavior. |
