The development of business Chinese teaching is closely linked to the current situation of the global economy. Over the past three years, the new coronavirus (COVID-19) raging worldwide has enormously impacted various sectors. It has severely affected not only the economic development but also the global education system. As international business activities undergo changes, the demand for business Chinese teaching will also be significantly affected. In the post-epidemic era, Taiwan's business Chinese teaching confronts the challenge of uncertain international student sources. Therefore, it is appropriate to further contemplate the feasibility of transformation and more development. This article explores the potential of teaching Chinese related to the thriving e-commerce industry during the pandemic, a period when many other sectors experienced a decline. This study analyzes the e-commerce learning needs of foreign Chinese learners through a questionnaire survey targeting students at a Chinese Teaching Center in Taiwan with 189 valid samples. The main focus of the research is to understand the needs and interests of Chinese learners studying e-commerce-related activities. This study also seeks to understand the students’preferred learning content and teaching methods. Lastly, after integrating the research results and the opinions of the interviewees, this study further provides conclusions and suggestions for establishing ''E-commerce Chinese'' courses. |
