Primary cervical lymphoma is arare malignancy encountered by gynecologic oncologist. Typically, lymphoma arises in lymphatic organs such as the spleen, thymus, or lymph nodes and spreads to other sites. Primary cervical lymphoma is difficult to preoperatively. Clinically, it often presents with vaginal bleeding or discharge, urinary symptoms or pelvic pain. Differential diagnosis of primary cervical lymphoma should include cervical fibroid, poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, chronic inflammation, and sarcoma. The recommended treatment might be six courses of R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vineristine and prednisone) in addition of radiotherapy, is associated with favorable clinical outcomes. The prospective diagnosis of lymphoma avoids unnecessary surgery and enables the immediate institution of chemotherapy or radiation therapy. |
