英文摘要 |
On 26th September and 11th October 2020, the author conducted two interviews with new immigrants from Mainland China in Taoyuan. The two interviews were conducted smoothly, and the interviewees had in-depth discussions about their personal experiences in Taiwan and their feelings on social integration, they were willing to mention some sensitive social or political issues (such as cross-strait relations and Taiwanese politics); both positive and negative experiences and perceptions can be expressed freely. This paper classifies and analyzes interviews from five aspects: the environment and background of the place of origin, the relationship and marriage, the adaptation to society, the job seeking in workplaces, and ideology. Although it is not a sizable number of new immigrants in Taoyuan interviewed which seems underrepresented, it still reflects the general situation of new immigrants in Taoyuan from a certain aspect. |
