天谷雅行（Masayuki Amagai）教授在本演講中，帶領我們一起回顧了陳拱北教授早年在慶應義塾大學醫學部求學期間的點點滴滴，重點著墨於該校學習生活中所獲得的栽培跟啟發，以及畢業後如何一步步成為台灣公共衛生的奠基者，在台灣大學公共衛生學系和研究所創辦初期，致力於領導公共衛生教育的推廣和發展。

Prof. Kung-Pei Chen (1917–1978) has been praised as a great public health mentor and the father of public health in Taiwan. His enthusiasm and dedication to the progress of public health in Taiwan are extensively recognized and provide an important spiritual and physical foundation that influences younger generations.
