Most of the domestic and foreign research on senior citizen tourism focuses on the relationship between leisure activities and obstacles to leisure, as well as the relationship between leisure motivation and satisfaction. However, there is very little research on the motivation, obstacles, and preferences of senior citizen overseas tourism. This study aims to explore the various issues related to the motivation, obstacles, and preferences of senior citizen tourism to fill the gap in previous research. The study primarily targets the population of senior citizens aged 50 and above in central Taiwan, with 245 valid questionnaires and a response rate of 98%. SPSS25 was used for statistical analysis, with descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent samples t-tests, and one-way ANOVA as the main analytical methods. The study results show that there is a significant positive correlation between travel motivation and both travel obstacles and preferences. Furthermore, travel obstacles also have a significant positive correlation with travel preferences. These findings can provide insights for tourism industry practitioners to improve their management strategies and design better tourism plans and services that cater to the needs of senior citizens. |
