After India’s independence in 1947, India-US ties have weathered a tough terrain including the cold war era and estrangement due to India’s nuclear program. However, the last decade has been a new chapter for India-U.S. ties in a holistic form. This monograph will explore India-U.S. ties history briefly with a focus on presentday cooperation, especially in the field of defense cooperation. The US and India are building out their partnership to share advanced defense to counter China. |
