Normal saline irrigation and placement are common practices during gynecological surgery. Normal saline, a sterile solution of sodium chloride in water, is used to irrigate and cleanse the surgical area to reduce the risk of infection. During surgery, the saline solution is typically delivered via an irrigation system that allows for controlled and precise application. In addition to irrigation, normal saline placement in the abdominal cavity post-operatively may be beneficial in reducing surgical site rough surface oozing and preventing adhesion formation. Proper technique and use of normal saline during gynecological surgery are critical for achieving optimal surgical outcomes and minimizing the risk of complications. |
