在中國神話發展史上，西王母是跨越數千年的女神，西王母神話也是中國最重要的女性神祇神話之一。直到今日，西王母神話仍在當代臺灣乃至於東南亞等華人信仰中被接受、重述與再造。對於當代西王母神話的研究及分析詮釋，實為研究西王母神話與信仰發展重要的課題。《瑤命皈盤》為探究臺灣西王母信仰歷史的重要文獻，歷來學界大都多置於宗教層面進行探討，然考其內容，此書由大量神話語言來表述，神話在《瑤命皈盤》中具有重要的關鍵地位。本文研究不著重在宗教教義之分析，而是置於「神話學」視野下探究，並進一步與西方創世神話類型進行比較，探究分析《瑤命皈盤》中的創世神話，以見《瑤命皈盤》創世神話之類型、敘事母題及其象徵文化意涵。

In the history of Chinese mythology, the Queen Mother of the West is a goddess that spanned thousands of years. The research in this paper does not focus on the analysis of religious sects, but from the perspective of 'mythology', and further compares it with the types of Western Cosmogonic myths.
