Objective: The purpose of this study was to improve the explanatory power of the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT 2) by combining it with self-efficacy measures and mobile technology identity, with the aim of effectively predicting the intention of nursing staff to use mobile technology. The effects of mobile technology identity and self-efficacy on the behavioral intention of nursing staff to use mobile technology were investigated. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 300 nurses from a medical institution in the central region of Taiwan. In total, 272 (90.67%) questionnaires were completed. A structural equation model was used to analyze the data. Results: Effort expectancy was positively and significantly correlated with performance expectancy, and performance expectancy, self-efficacy, and mobile technology identity had positive and significant influences on behavioral intention. Conclusion: The results can be used as a reference for hospitals to formulate strategies for promoting the use of mobile technology. |
