This study aims to explore how hardiness and its components (including commitment, control and challenge) can be achieved through work-to-family conflict (WFC), family-towork conflict (FWC), work-to-family enrichment (WFE) and family-to-work enrichment (FWE) to affect job and family satisfaction. The results are found to be: 1. Hardiness, commitment, control and challenge have positive effects on job (family) satisfaction. 2. Hardiness, commitment, and control have negative effects on WFC sand and FWC, respectively. 3. Hardiness and challenge have positive effects on WFE and FWE, respectively. 4. WFC and FWC have negative effects on job (family) satisfaction. 5. WFE and FWE have positive effects on job (family) satisfaction. 6. WFC and FWC have mediating effects on hardiness, commitment, and control to job (family) satisfaction, respectively. 7. WFE and FWE have mediating effects on hardiness and challenge to job (family) satisfaction, respectively. 8. Commitment and control are to influence job (family) satisfaction according to work-family conflict mechanisms. Challenge is to influence job (family) satisfaction according to work-family enrichment mechanisms. |
