論魏晉士人的愛物情懷──以《世說新語》為例

Research of Intellectuals’Passion For Items During the Wei and Jin Dynasties–“Shi Shuo Xin Yu”Textual Studies

魏晉時期的審美自覺，展現在對人與物的關注上，歷來研究者多著重於《世說》對人物之描繪、鑑賞等面向進行探討，對魏晉士人關注物之思考，多略而不談，十分可惜。因而本文嘗試以魏晉士人的愛物情懷為題，書寫脈絡擬先就先秦儒道及魏晉對物之態度，進行探討；並針對《世說新語》中所論及之物進行歸納，大抵可以歸納為犬馬名禽、珍飾器物、酒藥珍饈等，依照《世說》人物對物的喜好方式及其思維進行探討，藉此窺見魏晉士人愛物情懷中所展現的時代特質。

During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, people and objects were the focus of aesthetic consciousness. Many researchers focused on description and appreciation of intellectuals in “Shi Shuo Xin Yu”. However they neglected these intellectuals’ reflection on items, which is a pity. Therefore my thesis will focus on intellectuals’ passion for items during the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Firstly, I studied the attitude towards objects of both Confucianism and Taoism intellectuals in the early Qin dynasty and intellectuals in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Secondly, I divided the objects mentioned in “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” into several main categories—pets (including dogs, horses, birds), jewels and implements, food and beverages (including wine and medicine) and others. Thirdly, I analyzed the type of passion towards items and thoughts of intellectuals in “Shi Shuo Xin Yu”. My thesis gave a glimpse of the era trait while approaching intellectuals’ passion for items during the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
