2030 is Taiwan’s Bilingual Year. Teaching professional subjects in English is the future trend, but it is stressful for both students and teachers in vocational college. This article is about the implementing of the interactive reading teaching mode to the course “Appreciation and Application of English Picture Book.” The purposes are to construct the students’ English reading strategies and enhance their professional teaching skills in Child Care and Education. The English Reading Assessment Questionnaire” and the “Final Reflective Questionnaire” are used to collect quantitative data and analyzed by means of descriptive statistics. Teachers’ reaching records and students’ final feedback are used for qualitative information analyzed by theme. The results found that: First, the objectives of curriculum are based on students’ learning-oriented to adjust course content. Using simple spoken English to build up reading confidence. Integrating hands on activities and multi-diversity media into theory is helpful for learning. Secondly, using interactive teaching strategies and regular activity patterns to activate students’ participation in learning. To promote teacher-student cooperation through heterogeneous group activities. Finally, through the organization and management of multiple teaching materials and strategies to structure teaching process. In terms of constructing English teaching mode to improve students’ English abilities and professional learning. Research findings provide teaching advices for administrators and teachers. |
