疫苗民族主義的前世今生──再談二元論

The Previous existence and today's face of vaccine nationalism--review on dualism

民族主義與疫苗都是舊的名詞，但疫苗民族主義卻是新的概念，但仔細分析，疫苗民族主義也不是新的意識型態，有其產生的現代環境，也有其演進的歷史背景。本文先以「二元論」的類型學分析此種民族主義的前世與今生，即新與舊的內涵。因為民族主義是一種情感依附，總是帶有價值判斷在內。本文接著解構疫苗民族主義的正反相對性，疫苗民族主義是全球化與反全球化對抗下的產物。民族主義之所以一直存在，因為有人喜歡，有人反對，但是在民族主義發展史上，從未見過如此不受歡迎的民族主義，本文第三段用以探討這種現象的虛與實。最後為結語，民族主義不死，只是凋零，未來可能不會再有疫苗民族主義，但即使換個名稱，就算叫作「樸素的愛國主義」，仍是民族主義。

Nationalism and Vaccine are all old language, however, vaccine nationalism is a new concept. Through a detailed analysis the author discovered that vaccine nationalism was as old as other styles of nationalism. This ideology itself had both historical background and modern dynamic. According to the Dualism, this essay intends to debate the subject about new and old, so-called good and bad. Because of there is an attachment of feelings to nationalism, vaccine nationalism is always a choice between right and wrong. The author considers that vaccine nationalism is a product of globalization and anti-globalization. Someone likes this ideology, yet others do not like, but no one accepted it. On the surface all countries deny vaccine nationalism, in fact, they all embraced it. This seems to be false manners. The author quote a saying from Douglas MacArthur as conclusion that ''old soldiers never die, they simply fade away''. So as to the nationalism. In the future there will not exist another vaccine nationalism, but patriotism will exist forever.
