"Tea mosquitobug , Helopeltis fasciaticollis Poppius (Hemiptera: Miridae) is one of the major pests which causes severe damages in organic tea plantations of central Taiwan in recent years. This pest also causes damage on other crops such as coffee, cocoa, cashew nut and passion fruit. Both nymphs and adults of H. fasciaticollis prefer to feed on the buds and young leaves of tea plants and cause brown feeding lesions. The article describes the morphological characteristics, diagnosis, and available management methods for this pest." |
