梨赤星病與龍柏銹病

Pear rust and dragon juniper rust

西元1899年本病害係由Sydow氏首先於日本發現；1958年台灣由日本引進溫帶梨後，在1959年孫守恭教授就於台中梨山地區發現梨赤星病和龍柏銹病的發生（1）。隨後台中市和平區大面積栽種梨樹，且該區附近校園、賓館及軍營又大量種植龍柏，導致本病害的發生越趨嚴重。

"Pear rust and dragon juniper rust are caused by the heteroecious pathogen Gymnosporangium asiaticum, which requires both the host (pear) and an alternate host (dragon juniper) to complete its life cycle. The disease was increasingly observed in Taiwan owing to the increased cultivation of pear and juniper in the vicinity. The pathogen could weaken both host plants. This article discusses symptoms, the causal pathogen, diagnosis, and management strategies."
