"Five different kinds of wood blocks, Chamaecyparis formosensis, Tectona grandis, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Gonystylus bancanus, and Pinus luchuensis, were put into one tubular can in a random complete block design, and then burried at 15 cm depth under soil for attracting the Formosan subterranean termites, Coptotermes formosanus. The loss weights were calculated after 8 weeks. The result indicated that the termite most preferred Pinus luchuensi amoung the wood blocks tested. In addition, the relative position of wood blocks in a tubular can did not affect the feeding preference of the termite." |
