Up or Down? The Positive and Negative Effects of Information Technology on the Education of Chinese Mandarin Language and Literacy

本文在當代社會劇烈變遷與新冠肺炎流行的脈絡下,探討資訊科技對教育產生的正面與負面影響,以及所帶來的語文教育新契機和可能的潛在負作用。因此,本文運用文獻探討的方法,蒐集國內外相關文獻,進行此一議題的分析、討論與闡釋。研究結果顯示,資訊科技對教育領域的影響既廣泛又深遠,已是學習與生活不可或缺的一部分,能突破時間和空間的限制,新冠肺炎疫情加速遠距與線上教學的普及化,開啟學習的新模式,形塑未來教育的新面貌;其對語文教育的影響,促成傳統讀寫能力的重新界定,轉而重視多元識讀能力。而且,善用資訊科技有助於提升傳統語文能力的學習成效,也能促進多元識讀能力的發展,使學生成為主動的學習者;不過,學校和教師在接納資訊科技時,也應關注教育機會均等、網路安全倫理等議題,防範可能的潛在負作用。
英文摘要
"The paper aims to explores the positive and negative effects of information technology on education as well as the language and literacy education of Mandarin Chinese in the context of the contemporary society with the epidemic of COVID-19 pandemic. It uses the method of literature review to analyze, discuss and explain this topic. The research results show that the impact of information technology on education is both extensive and far-reaching, and already an indispensable part of learning and life. It can break through the limitations of time and space. It has accelerated the popularization of remote and online teaching and started the new model of learning. Its impact on the language and literacy education of Mandarin Chinese education has led to the redefinition of traditional literacy skills, and instead emphasizes multi-literacy skills. Moreover, making good use of information technology can help improve the learning effectiveness of traditional language and literacy skills, and can also promote the development of multi-literacy skills, so that students become active learners; however, schools and teachers should also embrace the information technology and deliberate the issues such as equal opportunity, network ethics, to prevent possible potential negative effects. "
