"The road running sports that have emerged in recent years have made outdoor sports tourism a new choice for national tourism. Road running is the largest sports tourist population in Taiwan, and it has also become one of the leisure sports that Taiwan people like. Therefore, various county and city government units have integrated tourism resources through sports games and have become a means to promote the economic benefits of the city. This study will use the perspectives of the participants of Taiwan's Rice Heaven-Tianzhong Marathon to understand the correlation between the participation motivation and the happiness of life of the marathon participants. The subjects were 250 selected from 2018 Taiwan's Rice Heaven-Tianzhong Marathon. The subjects were administered ''participation motivation inventory'' and ''well-being inventory''. The collected data were analyzed by frequency distribution, descriptive statistics, t-test (independent) and Pearson product-moment correlation. The findings were as follows:1. Participants of the marathon have the highest motivation to participate in ''bodily and mental release'', followed by ''healthy fitness'' and ''ability achievement''; the most happy ones are ''self-affirmation'' and ''life satisfaction''. Participation motivation has a medium-high positive correlation with life happiness; among them, the ''novel experience'' in the participation motivation has the highest correlation with the overall happiness; the ''self-affirmation'' of happiness has the highest correlation with the overall participation motivation. Based on the results and findings of this study, some applications and further research suggestions were offered." |
