"From 1927-1933 of the Republic of China, the famous Swedish explorer Sven Hedin (1865-1952) and the academic community of Beijing (led by Peking University) formed the ""Northwest Science Investigation Group"", which was established in the Northwest of China. A number of academic investigation activities related to archaeology, anthropology, folklore, geology, geomagnetism, meteorology, and astronomy, etc. The results have been carried out successfully in the region. In particular, one of the members, Folke Bergman (1902-1946), excavated more than 10,000 pieces of Juyan Han jian (The Documents of the Han Dynasty on Wooden Slips from Edsen-Gol) in the Edsen-gol region in the Inner Mongolia during 1930 to 1931. It was a shocking new worldwide! However, this epic academic investigation activity has been known for many years, except for a few scholars who delve into the history and geography of the Northwest of China. When the author read through the ""Shun Pao"" dated May 10-11, 1927, he can observe the article 19 of the agreement signed at that time. The author would like to make a few commentaries based upon it." |
