Now that the collaboration between AI (Artificial Intelligence) and HI (Human Intelligence) is attracting a lot of attention, foreign language learners need to be able to use not only the five skills of reading, speaking, listening, writing, and translating, but also to understand the culture of the country where the language is spoken and the culture that differs from their own. This kind of foreign language human resources 2.0, which combines AI and HI, is the type of foreign language human resources for an advanced knowledge society that is desired in the age of AI. Based on this understanding, the purpose of this paper is to report on the class design, teaching syllabus, teaching contents, and learning effects of the ''AI and Foreign Language Learning'' course that was offered in the 109th academic year. ''As a result of the implementation of the ''AI and Foreign Language Learning'' course, it can be said that the class was indeed useful for the goal of fostering foreign language talents 2.0 who can combine AI and HI, based on the following three points: ''students learning effects revealed by PE diagrams,'' ''students learning effects revealed by semester grades,'' and ''students homework analyzed by AI technology. On the other hand, there are four points that need to be addressed, such as the need for horizontal dialogue among instructors, securing a computer classroom that can be operated by 175 students at a time, offering programming classes for humanities and social studies students, and designing classes with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in mind. I strongly feel that these four points are especially urgent tasks in this advanced information age where no one can resist AI. This is what I would like to address in the future. |
