Squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva us a rare cancer, occounting for approximately 5% of the female genital cancer. Standard therapy for early-stage vulvar cancer manly comprises of wide excision of the vulva and inguino-femeral lymphadectomy. In locally advanced or metastatic vulvar cancer, neoadjuvant chemotherapy following surgery or definitive chemotherapy is often considered as an alternative treatment method. Given high recurrence rates of all patients with squamous cell carcinoma of vulva, routine long-term surveillance is recommended following primary treatment. |
