“A Scene at the Laboratory”is a work of colloquial poetry that remained unpublished after Miyazawa Kenji’s decease. However, this work has barely received any attention, and publication studying the poem as a whole, rather than partially, is not extant. Hence, the author felt the need to study the complete image of the poem first and included the observation of the poem into this paper, such as the content of the poem during each revision phase, presentation methods such as formats and tones, and the time when each revision was completed. The findings indicated that Miyazawa had given thought to releasing the poem, and that he had considered using a pseudonym when publishing it. Furthermore, the poem also reflected Miyazawa’s passion for yeast consumption. These discoveries helped shed light on aspects of Miyazawa Kenji’s life that were unknown to people in the past." |
