The purpose of this study is to analyze errors and mistakes of non-native speakers of Japanese through the Taiwanese learner writing corpus of Japanese. We focus on Japanese subsidiary verbs -tekuru and -teiku and investigate the cause of errors related to them with error examples appeared in the database. Taking an advantage of the of corpus, we present how errors are distributed and express them with concrete figures. We adopt a cognitive linguistic approach in order to argue the nature of these two subsidiary verbs and examine how their meanings are extended. As to the causes of errors, like the results in our previous papers, we found various types of factors other than the transfer of mother tongue (that is Mandarin Chinese or Taiwanese). Besides, we pointed out that learners have difficulty in acquiring extended use, which is grammaticalized, such as -tekuru and -teiku. |
