This study attempts to construct a part-time on-campus job guidance model for special education students. The study lasted for one and a half years, using action research methods in which academic and administrative units, as well as special education students, were invited to participate. The initial stage of the model construction started with an evaluation of students’capabilities and understanding of the workplaces. It went through employment matching, empowerment courses, work supervision, and finally comprehensively evaluated the students’overall performance. Participants in the study gave positive feedback throughout the process. This work-study guidance model has resulted in a set of standardized procedures and related forms. The model is a practical and feasible method that can be promoted throughout a university. The researchers provide suggestions for future research. |
