n February 2019, the HKSAR Government introduced a draft amendment to the ''Fugitive Offenders Ordinance'', it was not expected to cause a fierce reaction from Hong Kong society. On March 31, the Hong Kong Civil Human Rights Front launched the first demonstration against the revised draft of the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance. However ,because the Hong Kong government insists on amending the bill, there were another two opposing marches at the end of April and early June. These marches are still peaceful. Due to the unsatisfactory result of the appeal, there was a fierce protest march on June 9 and it has continued for three months thereafter. Every weekend, the protest storm is more and more fierce, and even worse throws gasoline bombs and attacks the police and police stations, which makes the original ''anti-revision'' turn into a revolution in the end. In response to the riots in Hong Kong society, the DPP attributes the complete failure to ''one country, two systems'', and thus propagates it in Taiwan, which in turn affects the future development of the two sides of the strait. Therefore, we need to care about and seriously discuss the occurrence, development and future of the Hong Kong incident. This article first discusses the implementation of ''one country, two systems'' in Hong Kong, one of the core issues of this riot in Hong Kong, then discusses the meaning of ''one country, two systems'', and discusses again the ''92 consensus'' based on ''one country, two systems'' in cross-strait relations. Finally, we discuss the new exposition of the ''92 consensus'' and ''one country, two systems'' after the Hong Kong riots. |
